Cat Rabbit Wolf Wolf pt 1 by zasu Cat Rabbit Wolf Wolf pt 1 by zasu
this is one original - a perfectly good original, i know. i'm going to put up another original, then finally, a manip where i combine the two. just so you know :D

selectively increased contrast and brightness, darkened some bright spots in the background. no manipulations other than brightness, contrast and size. someone told me that wolf's knee looks too sharp against the dog, and thought i must have cut them together there, but, unfortunately, that's really just how it looks - i can even show you the ORIGINAL original which shows it looking exactly the same way, except that everything is darker.

that's our cat hunter, our bunny bunny, my son wolf, and our wolf hybrid, ookami, on our couch in our log cabin in the mountains :)

i think the only one disturbed by the setting was the wolf-hybrid - just because she knew she couldn't eat the bunny, but she soooo wanted to ;) the cat was raised from babyhood with the wolf mix - so, no fear there at all :D

I love this picture so much, they're so cute. And I prefer this one to the manip. I love the cat's behavior.

^^; my cats won't even play nice together.. let alone with my dad's tiny excuse for a dog (It runs around everywhere, but it's strange to me, because I like big dogs).. Such I scene I envy *laughs*

"know that the cat, who was named hunter, and really did hunt outside, seemed confused when we first found the rabbit (i saved her from the mouth of a boxer that had just caught her), and wondered if she was prey. but i always sat with them together, and pulled the cat away if he seemed too... eager. eventually he accepted that the bunny was just a funny smelling kitty. and the bunny accepted him as a funny smelling rabbit. the bunny would run up to the cat, and they would jump around each other a bit and sniff each other. sometimes the cat would rub his face against her. other times he just ignored her. eventually, the rabbit escaped out our back door, and i could never catch her again, but she hung out for another year, and would still run up to and play with the cat. the cat left home eventually, and i think the rabbit probably missed him some, as she then had no one to socialize with (since she refused to nuzzle US)."

hm hm.. what an interesting story... is the wolf-dog still with you? very pretty he is.. ^..^

ookami died peacefully a few years ago at age 12, which is about average (life expectancy 12-14) for dogs her size.

we have a new puppy now, but still miss ookami a lot :(

Haha sweet! I have trouble trying to photograph my animals. They just don't sit still. My cat is a spiteful little bugger and my dog is just...my dog. Fidgety ;)

i was lucky, i guess, because my wolf-husky was very calm (and old, at that point), and just liked to lay around, the bunny was holdable, and the cat just loved to watch and sometimes play with the bunny.

do you have a small dog? they're usually more high energy. tho' i suppose you could have an australian shepherd or cattledog - both sorta big and exciteable :D

:P I have a medium sized dog. I have to stick some photos up sometime. He is a short haired collie crossed with a staffy.

A wolf husky! So that's what he is. Your animals are absolutely gorgeous!

I also have a regal cat named Simba. Hence his name ;) He even has a mane. He's obnoxious, rude, and sometimes very affectionate, and does what he pleases.

The cat gets along with the bunny :D !! How do they play exactly?

Rabbit: "So...I guess today, YOU can play prey! I always do it!"
Cat: -Looks embarrassed- "I...uh...yes. Playing! We were just playing!" -Hungry eyes-
A random bird: -Drops coloured paint on the scene and disappears into the sunset-

This is a great pic. I love the look on Wolf's face. I think Hunter is looking at Bunny trying to figure out a way to regain a lost lap and more pets from Wolf. ha!

Funny how Ookami is watching TV, too. The only show on TV our dog has ever watched was the movie Benji.

you could be right :D

and, ookami normally doesn't watch tv either, but there must have been some barking dogs on just then (we watch animal planet and discovery channel a lot, so there's a good chance of that happening) :D

thanks for the comments and faves :D

it's so ... it's so ...i don't know ...it's like they should all be staring at the baby Jesus or something except for the cat who looks like he *might* be thinking about bunny burgers ...lol...
( you need a lion in there too for maximum effect ..lol )

Cute dear :) ... ( add this to the "show his date " collection ;) )

PERFECT!

I like the cat and rabbit dynamic in this one! It's cool that those two have a story and Wolf and the Wolf have another story :)

Ya know what I mean when I say story?

yeah, i do know what you mean. because wolf and ookami are both looking in the same direction, away from the 2 smaller animals, and the rabbit and the cat are looking at each other. and really, it makes sense, because the cat and rabbit were close friends, and wolf and ookami were close. :)

This picture makes me want to cry for some reason - perhaps because your son is so young and beautiful and he will be grown up before you blink twice - perhaps because you have turned your log cabin into a Peaceable Kingdom. I love all your reds, such warmth and contentment in this photo!!!

aw... there, there...

*hands you a tissue*

it wil be alright. :)

but, i do know what you mean... the other morning, i was drowsing on the couch, not completely asleep, and i could feel wolf as a baby sitting in my arms, leaning his back against me, smell his baby scent, and see his innocent baby eyes looking deep into mine, and i suddenly missed that little baby so much. sigh. :(
