Charcoal Bunny

this is a feral rabbit i rescued literally out of the jaws of a boxer, next to the river in the mountains, on halloween over a year ago. i should post pics of that. anyway.. it was a young rabbit then, and in shock, so i brought her to my house to recover. i talked to some biologists and discovered she wasn't a wild rabbit, but came from some rabbits (all the same color) who must have been dumped up there in the mountains by an irresponsible owner.

we kept the bunny for several months, until she escaped one day out the back door. wolf and i chased her for hours through the snow. at one point, wolf fell down a hill, face down in the snow, with his arms pinned under him. at that point, the bunny hopped up to wolf and sniffed his face, but he was completely helpless to get his arms out from under himself and grab her.

she has always stayed near our house, but, unfortunately, never lets us get near enough to capture her. we feed her, and she has now moved under our back porch, where there is a hot water pipe that keeps the area warm for her.
